The Frog Prince
Jan Callner (Book, Music and Lyrics)
Narrated by the wise, witty, song-and-dance frog Aloysius, this musical retelling of a classic story has its own quirky twists. Thanks to a wacky Fairy Godmother, a party snub, and a spell for the ages, two royal babies find themselves on very different paths. One grows up in privilege, and selfish to boot.  The other grows up as a – well, as a frog!  They meet again 18 years later. Against her nature, the Princess agrees to let the Frog visit the palace. The two manage to reconnect as friends, unaware that they have known each other all their lives.  An important story beautifully and humorously told. The quality catchy soundtrack is more than worth the price of “admission.”

Performers: Aloysius T. Frog: James Gerth, Princess: Deborah Spahr, Frog Prince: Michael J. Farina, Fairy Godmother: Jan Callner, Queen: Joan Thunhorst, King: John Fava

Songs: Lily Pad Heaven – Mad Song – Lily Pad Heaven – Another Night At the Palace – Eenie Meenie – A Golden Ball – Friends – Sometimes A Promise

The recording of this show won the Early Childhood News Director’s Choice Award and won rave reviews in Sesame Street Parents Magazine and Family Fun Magazine
